10 mistakes selecting a home theater speakers

1. Commercial branded all in one system.
Many good branded TVs made DVD players, hometheater system etc. Well , their TV is real good, with awards, but do have a good listen to their home theater package before making any commitment.

2. Not relax to listen.
When you are in a rush, you simply not in a state for audition. Simply go to the toilet, wash up yourself and cool down for 15 minutes by window shopping. Once relax, heads towards and listen to your familiar track.

3. Thunder bass.
The awesome sub-woofer bass kept you riveted to your seat. You have overlook the overall performance of the whole system.

4. Cute and tiny.
Small and cute system are nice to look or hide. When it comes to producing full frequency they can never perform. They may sound distorted once dynamic sounds track occurs.

5. Bookshelf speakers.
Can high end bookshelf speakers outperform high end big speakers? Only speakers with certain size cabinets and drivers can produce full frequency. Bookshelf speakers is good for small room.

6. No bass.
Time is needed for correct speakers placement. There is no quick fix rule.

7. Powerful amplifier.
Your neighbour bough a budget commercial THX certified amplifier while you own a high end non-THX amplifier which sound much better. Do not fall prey to commercial super '1000 watts' rating. You might own a Mark Lenvinson amplifier which will definitely sound way much better.

8. Cheap sale.
Some 2nd hand dealers might play tricks. Do go for well know 2nd hand dealers or buy new from local dealers.

9. Wrong placement.
Some love to hide their speaker in cabinet etc due to WAF. If that's the case buy the speakers design to be closed to wall type etc.

10. Branded package system.
Yes, even well know brands have scale down for commercial reach. Most of the time, price do play a part, high end speakers price is high for a reason.
